About Us

Souldern Village Hall is managed by a voluntary committee, elected annually, representing village charities and is a registered charity no. 269441

About Our Hall

Souldern Village Hall sits at the top of the picturesque village of Souldern just off the B4100 equidistant between Bicester, Brackley and Banbury.

It has a large main room, a fully functioning kitchen and a smaller room which can be used independently as a meeting or committee room, or in conjunction with the main hall. The layout can be viewed in the floorplan document.

The interior of the hall has been recently renovated with new flooring and new kitchen area fittings. The main hall has an 80 person seated capacity, with up to 120 standing capacity. The smaller room has a seating capacity of 12.

The hall has 16 tables and 90 chairs available to use which are stored in an adjoining storage room.

Next to the Village Hall is an ample car park, a recently installed children’s playground and a large playing field.

Our History

Souldern Village Hall has been at the heart of village life for over 50 years. Built in 1974, the hall replaced the old Parish Reading Room, which was sadly destroyed by fire in 1971. Since then, the hall has been extended and improved to meet the needs of the community.

In 1977, a store room was added, followed by changing room facilities for footballers in 1982. Over the years, further modernisations have taken place, including the installation of a new kitchen, solar panels to support heating, and improved accessibility for all visitors.

A lovely touch of history remains on the boundary of the recreation field, where beech trees were planted by the children of Souldern to celebrate the Silver Jubilee.

Following refurbishments in 2011 and again in 2025, the Village Hall continues to provide a warm, clean, and versatile space for a wide range of community events, private functions, and activities
